WSHB’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy’s team, including Team Lead Christopher Seusing and Senior Counsel Sameer Ponkshe, moderated panels at the 2021 Claims and Litigation Management Alliance’s (CLM) Cyber Conference in New York City. Chris’s panel, Cyber Insurance Market Trends and Risk Challenges, addressed the various types of cyber claims seen over the past year and the effect on the cyber insurance market, including increased scrutiny of data and information security safeguards and compliance with evolving industry and privacy regulations. Chris was joined by fellow thought leaders Rachel Patrizzo (Hartford Steam Boiler), Anthony Dolce (The Hartford), and Peter Hedberg (Corvus Insurance). Sameer’s panel, Anatomy of a Breach Response, discussed the importance of an incident response plan and walked the audience through a data breach response from intake through notification. Sameer was joined by thought leaders Erika Nelson (Allied World), Carla Silva (Sedgwick) and Jamie Berry (Integreon).

Chris Seusing is New England Managing Partner with WSHB, overseeing the firm’s Boston and Connecticut offices, and leads the firm’s national Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team. With nearly 15 years of collective experience in cyber, professional and management liability areas, Chris represents companies and professionals in complex litigation matters around the country. He counsels clients on responding to data breach incidents and regulatory inquiries and investigations, oversees forensic investigations of incidents, drafts information management policies and procedures in compliance with privacy regulations, and collaborates with case teams to implement cost-effective processes using state-of-the-art litigation tools, including analytics and technology-assisted review.

Sameer Ponkshe is Senior Counsel in WSHB’s White Plains, New York office, and is a member of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy team. His practice focuses on a wide variety of cybersecurity and privacy matters, professional liability and commercial litigation claims. As part of his practice, Sameer has handled numerous breach response incidents, counseling clients and working with forensic vendors through all phases of their response efforts, and bringing matters to a swift resolution. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, as well as the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

The CLM Cyber Liability Conference is an annual conference consisting of multiple roundtable sessions for professionals in the claims and litigation management industries. The conference is a tremendous mix of collaborative discussions and fun networking events.
