Overview
Norman V. Ortega is a senior associate in WSHB’s Thousand Oaks office. His practice focuses on civil litigation, with particular experience in real estate, landlord-tenant and habitability disputes, premises liability, commercial matters, and tort and casualty defense.
Norman represents property owners, property management companies, businesses, and other insured clients in matters involving alleged property conditions, personal injuries, construction issues, title disputes, contractual claims, and related civil liability. He handles matters throughout the litigation process, from early case evaluation and pleadings through written discovery, depositions, law and motion, mediation, trial preparation, trial, and appellate proceedings.
Norman approaches litigation through disciplined case development, careful analysis of the evidentiary record, and practical risk assessment. He works closely with clients, insurers, experts, and witnesses to develop defense strategies aligned with the client’s business objectives and potential exposure.
Before joining WSHB, Norman represented clients in real property, general liability, commercial, and trust and estate litigation. Additionally, his trust and estate experience encompasses will contests, elder abuse and undue influence claims, beneficiary disputes, and claims concerning fiduciary duties.
Norman is also an active licensed California real estate broker. His background in finance and business administration provides an additional perspective when evaluating property ownership, valuation, damages, litigation strategy, and potential resolution.
Outside the office, Norman trains in wrestling, Muay Thai, and capoeira.
