Overview

Thomas Hollowell is a partner in WSHB’s Charleston, South Carolina, office. He has extensive experience in complex litigation, insurance coverage, and appellate advocacy, consistently achieving favorable outcomes for clients across a range of challenging matters.

Tom’s broad litigation practice centers on general tort defense, with deep experience handling automobile and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, premises liability, product liability, catastrophic injury, defamation, complex commercial litigation, and insurance coverage disputes. He is also recognized for his skillful representation of clients through all stages of appellate proceedings.

Throughout his career, Tom has managed cases in both state and federal courts, overseeing all phases of litigation, from case assessment and discovery to dispositive motions, trial, and appeal. He has served as first chair counsel in multiple jury trials and has successfully briefed and argued cases before the South Carolina Court of Appeals.

Tom earned his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he was publications editor of the Health Law Journal. He holds a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Rhode Island.

He is admitted to practice in South Carolina, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, and is retired from the Rhode Island bar.
