Overview

Sean Patel is a senior associate in WSHB’s Westport, Connecticut office. He handles all phases of cybersecurity and data privacy matters, as well as complex civil matters, including general commercial litigation.

Before joining the firm, Sean worked as an asset management associate. In this position, he provided outside counsel to Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan about their alternative investment businesses involving private equity and exchange funds. Sean has also worked for Citigroup as a compliance officer, where he responded to regulatory inquiries from various government agencies and self-regulatory organizations, including the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Sean graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law, which he attended on a Legal Merit Scholarship. At Quinnipiac University, Sean was one of only two individuals in his graduating class to complete the JD/MBA dual program, of which he was the only individual to graduate the dual program with honors in three years.

He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Data Analytics from the University of Connecticut. Sean is currently enrolled in the Executive LL.M. Program in Securities and Financial Regulation at Georgetown University School of Law. He is anticipated to graduate in the spring of 2024 with distinct honors.
