Overview

Insurers on both sides of the Atlantic entrust Max Bayman with challenging coverage issues. A partner in the firm's Atlanta office, Max serves as lead counsel for Lloyd's of London syndicates and U.S. admitted insurers in coverage matters nationwide. He handles disputes from first notice of loss through litigation, and he regularly represents insurers in arbitration.

A share of that work involves commercial auto and trucking policies. Max advises insurers on third-party liability coverage under those policies, including the MCS-90 endorsement obligations that federal law layers onto them. The largest share of his work is dedicated to representing insurance carriers in first-party property litigation, from storm and water losses to appraisal disputes and statutory penalty claims. For the London market, he advises syndicates on subrogation and property damage claims arising from losses across the United States.

The other side of Max's practice focuses on liability defense. He has defended the trucking industry for nearly a decade. Motor carriers based across the country retain him when a serious accident puts them in a Texas or Georgia courtroom. He defends wrongful death and catastrophic injury suits in challenging venues.

Max also defends hospitality, resort, and property management companies in premises liability suits and represents businesses and fiduciaries in commercial disputes. He came to private practice from the business side of the energy industry, where he interpreted title instruments, oil and gas agreements, and midstream contracts for a large international producer.

Max spent the better part of a decade practicing in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. He remains active in both states. He is licensed in Texas and Georgia, admitted in every federal district court in both states, and admitted before the Fifth Circuit. Super Lawyers has named him a Rising Star in Texas (2021 - 2023) and Georgia (2025 - 2026). He has tried construction defect and trucking personal injury cases. He gives clients direct answers and moves cases toward resolution.
