Overview

Matthew A. Fuentes is an associate attorney at WSHB's Seattle office, handling several practice areas, including intellectual property, cybersecurity and data privacy, corporate law, professional liability, and commercial and business litigation.

He earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.A. in Sociology from the University of Florida. While studying at Iowa Law, Matthew served as an editor for the Journal of Corporation Law, as the external relations chair for Iowa Law's Mental Health Committee, and as a peer advisor for Iowa Law's Career Services Department. Additionally, he worked as a research assistant to his intellectual property law professor, creating instructional videos and assisting in organizing scholarly talks on contemporary topics in intellectual property.

Matthew has volunteered as a legal researcher with the ACLU of Iowa and more recently with King County's Neighborhood Legal Clinics, which provide free legal services to those in need.

Previously, he worked as a claimant's attorney, representing injured workers who had been denied benefits by the Washington Department of Labor and Industries. He credits this experience as essential for developing his litigation skills, as he was the lead attorney on various cases.
