Overview
Joe Garcia is Senior Counsel in WSHB’s Rio Grande Valley office, where he handles complex civil litigation matters and brings more than 30 years of trial and courtroom experience to the firm. A lifelong practitioner in the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas, Joe has a proven record of successfully representing clients in and out of the courtroom.
Before joining WSHB, Joe served in a variety of distinguished legal roles, including as Assistant District Attorney in the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office—Special Crimes Unit and Child Welfare Division; Regional Managing Attorney for the Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division; and Senior Regional Attorney for the Attorney General’s Child Support Division. He also practiced with a civil litigation firm, where he honed his civil defense skills.
Joe earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law–Houston and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pan American University. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
Outside the courtroom, Joe values time with his wife, children, and is a very proud pawtaw (grandpa) of three. He is a founding member of the South Texas Multiple Sclerosis Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families navigating life with MS.
