Overview

Ji Y. Kim is an associate attorney in the Los Angeles office of WSHB. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, drawing on a diverse background in government, military, and prosecutorial legal work. Ji represents clients in matters requiring rigorous legal research, strategic motion practice, and courtroom advocacy, and he brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach shaped by his experience across federal, state, and military legal institutions.

Prior to joining WSHB, Ji gained substantial litigation and regulatory experience through positions with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Homeland Security (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Office of the General Counsel. In these roles, he conducted felony preliminary hearings, drafted appellate briefs and government memoranda, assisted with procurement and ethics matters, and supported cases involving immigration enforcement, military justice, and administrative law.

Before entering the legal profession, Ji served as an officer in the United States Army with the 25th Infantry Division, where he held multiple leadership roles overseeing large-scale logistical operations and deployment planning for units of up to 450 soldiers. His military service included managing multimillion-dollar government assets, coordinating domestic and international operations, and supporting emergency response efforts related to the Red Hill Fuel Releases in Hawaii.

Ji earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, where he served as an editor for the Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship, and the Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside. Ji is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
