San Diego, CA

Wood Smith Henning & Berman is excited to share that Jason Klein, a partner and technology-forward construction litigator, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming 2025 CLM Construction Conference in San Diego. His session, "From Blueprint to Build: Demystifying 3D Printed Construction," will be held on Friday, September 19, from 11:00-12:00 p.m.

With 3D printed buildings rapidly shifting from novelty to a viable construction method, claims professionals and defense counsel must be equipped to understand this evolving landscape. Along with three industry colleagues, Sarah Bishop-Claims Transformation Consultant with IAT Insurance Group; Terence Kadlec- Senior Vice President of Technical Services with MC Consultants, Inc;. and Matt Kovacs- Claims Director with Aon, Klein will guide attendees through the full 3D construction process- from digital modeling and slicing software to material layering and structural formation- offering a detailed look at how these structures are conceived and built.

"This technology is not science fiction, it's already reshaping the built environment," stated Klein. "Our session connects that innovation of real-world implications for insurance coverage, defect claims, and legal strategy."

Attendees will gain foundational knowledge in how 3D printed construction works and what risks and liabilities it introduces, from durability concerns to potential failure models and novel questions of causation. The session will also cover how to evaluate claims involving 3D printed properties and anticipate challenges in litigation or subrogation.

Held September 17-19, the CLM Construction Conference is the nation's premier gathering for construction, insurance, and legal professionals. The conference is known for delivering actionable insights at the forefront of industry evolution.
