Overview

Ryan Tarter is a partner in WSHB's Portland office. His expertise lies in handling complex cases, especially those involving professional liability. He has successfully defended professionals in civil malpractice and board disciplinary actions. These include design professionals/architects and engineers, individuals in the legal and accounting industries, real estate agents/brokers, insurance agents/brokers, certified financial planners, investment advisors, registered representatives, and healthcare providers.

Ryan's legal background also covers an extensive range of areas, including torts and casualty, product liability, transportation, toxic exposure, commercial litigation, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and subrogation matters.

One of Ryan's core values is getting to know his clients and understanding their needs and goals. This approach enables him to guide his clients through the litigation process effectively. As a testament to his achievements, Ryan has been recognized as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch 2021 in the Pacific Northwest.

Before joining WSHB, Ryan worked with several law firms in Oregon. His experience has taught him that meticulous preparation and attention to detail are critical components in winning a case, regardless of its complexity. This mantra is what he brings to every case file handled.

Aside from his work, Ryan enjoys playing guitar, rooting for the Detroit Lions, and exploring the great outdoors.
