Overview
Randall Gomez is Senior Counsel with WSHB, where he represents clients in complex civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on personal injury, premises liability, insurance, and general liability defense. He brings more than a decade of litigation experience to his practice, having represented individuals, businesses, insurers, and other entities in matters from inception through resolution, including trial and appellate proceedings.
Born and raised in San Benito, Texas, Randall has deep roots in the Rio Grande Valley. He attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of the Longhorn Band and played saxophone. Following his undergraduate studies, Randall attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, graduating in 2013. While in law school, Randall had the opportunity to intern with the 13th Court of Appeals in Edinburg, Texas.
Randall began his legal career representing defendants in civil litigation and developed extensive experience defending personal injury, premises liability, automobile, commercial, and other complex claims. His practice has included all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, written discovery, depositions, expert discovery, dispositive motions, mediation, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and appellate matters.
After more than a decade practicing primarily on the defense side, Randall expanded his practice to include plaintiff-side personal injury and premises liability litigation, giving him a comprehensive perspective on the litigation process and the strategies employed by both plaintiffs and defendants. This experience allows him to evaluate claims from multiple perspectives and develop practical, effective strategies tailored to each matter.
Randall has also handled appellate matters throughout his career, including briefing and practice before Texas courts of appeals. His experience across both trial and appellate litigation provides him with a broad understanding of the procedural and substantive issues that can significantly affect the outcome of a case.
In recognition of his professional accomplishments, Randall was selected for inclusion in the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch®. This honor is based on peer review and recognizes attorneys earlier in their careers for outstanding professional excellence.
