Overview
Ralph Seegobin is a senior associate attorney practicing in WSHB’s Orlando office, specializing in complex general liability cases. He has extensive trial experience and spent years handling complex postconviction litigation, including substantial legal research and writing involving constitutional claims, evidentiary issues, and quasi-appellate advocacy.
Ralph’s prior experience includes serving as an Assistant State Attorney with the Office of the State Attorney, Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida, as an Assistant Attorney General assigned to the Consumer Protection Division at the Florida Office of the Attorney General, and as a Staff Attorney for Volusia County Schools. During his time as a prosecutor, Ralph handled hundreds of homicide and sex crimes cases, mostly in a postconviction capacity, but also in trial as both first and second chair. He was nominated by the elected State Attorney’s executive team for the FPAA Gene Berry Award in 2022, and he was presented with the Career Service Award by the appointed State Attorney in 2024. As an AAG, Ralph joined a team that investigated and litigated consumer protection cases under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA). As Staff Attorney, he handled Exceptional Student Education (ESE) matters, contract drafting and review, and DOJ/ADA compliance. He regularly attended Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and prepared due process matters for final hearings before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings (DOAH). He advised on Title IX, FERPA, public records matters, employee eligibility reviews, collective bargaining negotiations, shared use agreements, law enforcement presence and activity on school campuses, and copyright infringement.
Ralph teaches at the University of Central Florida as an adjunct instructor. He has also taught at Daytona State College and has given lectures for Florida Bar CLE credit and for the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association (FPAA). Ralph was invited to speak at ExpoJud USA 2024 on technology and case management, and he served as a guest panelist for FAMU Law (2026), Knights Pre-Law Association (2023), and the South Region Black Lawyers Association (2016).
He is a graduate of Barry University School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree in criminology from the University of Florida. He successfully completed the Central Florida Political Leadership Institute at the Orlando Economic Partnership in 2022. Ralph sits on the board of trustees for AMIkids Orlando, where he previously served as Board Chair for the AMIkids Orlando and AMIkids Volusia programs. He also currently serves on the 9th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee B for The Florida Bar.
