Overview

Rachel Ferreira Barone is an associate in WSHB’s Hartford, Connecticut office, where she focuses her practice on complex civil litigation. Her work encompasses a broad range of matters, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and employment disputes. Rachel represents corporations and individuals through all phases of litigation, from case evaluation and discovery to motion practice and trial preparation.

Before joining WSHB, Rachel practiced at a leading plaintiff’s law firm in Connecticut, where she handled diverse personal injury matters, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, and sole proximate cause cases. Having experience on both sides of litigation, she brings a balanced and strategic perspective to her defense work, allowing her to craft efficient and effective legal strategies tailored to each client’s needs.

Rachel earned her Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law, where she attended as a part-time evening student while working full-time at a quasi-state agency supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses across Connecticut. As Policy and Compliance Manager, she oversaw operations, policy development, and statewide programming initiatives. During law school, Rachel served as Vice President of the Evening Student Division of the Student Bar Association, as a staff writer for Lex Brevis (the law school newspaper), and as a member of the Law Review, later holding the position of Symposium Editor.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science Research in Psychological Sciences, with concentrations in Political Science and Spanish, from the University of Connecticut. She is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Connecticut and is dedicated to providing zealous, thoughtful, and results-oriented advocacy for her clients.
