Overview
Jacqueline Murphy focuses her practice on employment practices liability claims and professional liability matters. In her role as employment counsel, Jacqueline represents employers that are subject to suit by employees for harassment and discrimination in the workplace, including violations of Federal Statutes such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the ADA, ADEA, wage and hour claims, and the applicable state statutes. Jacqueline also counsels employers on current employment statutes, changes to employment statutes, creates and implements employee policies and drafts employment manuals and handbooks. Jacqueline also represents a variety of professionals against claims based on alleged errors and omissions (E&O) in the performance of their professional services and defends directors and officers against claims alleging fraud, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duties. Super Lawyers Magazine recognized Jacqueline’s proficiency in E&O cases by naming Jacqueline a “Rising Star” in 2021 and 2022 in the area of Professional Liability.
Additionally, Jacqueline is a member of the firm’s London Coverage Team. In this capacity, Jacqueline assists London syndicates and markets with a wide variety of insurance matters including first party and third party claims. As part of her coverage practice, Jacqueline prepares coverage evaluations and recommendations for primary and excess carriers for both the domestic and London insurance market, assesses the risk of providing and/or withholding insurance coverage to insureds, handles insurance related litigation, performs detailed analysis of insurance policies, drafts in-depth coverage opinions, conducts examinations under oath and facilitates settlements in all lines of business, including natural disasters, construction, business interruption, professional liability, general liability, environmental, and property.
Jacqueline also handles a myriad of General Liability matters dealing with personal injury and property damage and is skillful in construction law violations under Labor Law sections 240, 241 and 241(6).
