Jacob P. Wilson

Jacob Wilson handles all aspects of complex privacy and cybersecurity litigation, including data breach and pixel class actions, tech E&O litigation, and claims arising under privacy laws including CPRA, CIPA, VPPA and others. Jacob counsels clients through data security incidents, coordinating the responses to ransomware attacks, fraudulent wire transfers, and business email compromise events and evaluating notification obligations arising under applicable laws. Jacob also provides privacy compliance counseling for companies, works with cyber insurance carriers on subrogation recovery efforts, and helps clients respond to copyright infringement claims.

Prior to joining WSHB, Jacob was employed with another Los Angeles area law firm practicing primarily in consumer and business litigation. Previously, he has worked in-house in the compliance and legal departments of a Los Angeles based financial institution. Additionally, Jacob serves as an attorney volunteer with the Los Angeles County Bar Association Veterans Legal Services Project, providing pro bono legal services to local veterans in need of assistance in estate planning, housing, and other related legal matters. Prior to practicing law, Jacob earned a MBA in Finance, and served as a corporate officer in the financial and retail sectors in Southern California for over 15 years.
