Overview

Garry T. Stevens Jr. is a skilled litigator with extensive experience defending complex claims. As a partner in WSHB's White Plains office, he defends matters in state and federal courts and before arbitral forums, regulatory bodies and government agencies, with a practice that spans professional liability disputes, employment and discrimination claims, securities and investment matters, and commercial and business litigation.

Clients value Garry’s clear-eyed risk assessments and pragmatic strategies. Over his career, Garry has delivered defense wins and favorable resolutions in high-exposure disputes. A hallmark of his practice is his effective communication with clients, quickly identifying issues and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of cases to facilitate the best possible outcome. He is adept at preparing matters for trial while positioning them for potential early resolution.

Garry also counsels financial professionals and broker-dealers on regulatory compliance and responses to government inquiries. He regularly interfaces with insurance and securities regulators on behalf of his clients as he works to minimize potential pitfalls and exposure in highly regulated industries.

Before focusing on defense work, Garry practiced on the plaintiffs’ side in consumer and securities class actions and served as outside counsel to municipalities and school districts—experience that gives him a balanced perspective and informs his approach to client advocacy.
