Overview

Denise M. Stocker is Senior Counsel at WSHB's Jacksonville, Florida, office. With over ten years of litigation experience across various areas of law, Denise is well-equipped to handle a wide range of complex liability matters.

In her practice with the firm, Denise represents Fortune 500 corporations and insurance carriers in the defense of catastrophic commercial trucking claims, excess policy limits claims, wrongful death actions, and automobile negligence matters, which often involve traumatic brain injuries and surgical interventions.

She also successfully defends cases involving commercial premises liability, homeowners' insurance liability, fraudulent injury claims, underinsured and uninsured motorist actions, independent contractor liability, and indemnity claims. She handles all phases of litigation, including pre-suit, mediation, arbitration, and pre-trial proceedings in cases related to negligent hiring, retention, and supervision.

She has also tried cases to verdict in civil litigation venues. Notably, Denise has obtained a final summary judgment against a plaintiff in a commercial premises liability case and secured a dismissal due to fraud in an auto negligence case.

Denise earned her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law. While in law school, she was approved by the Florida Supreme Court to represent clients in court as a Certified Legal Intern through her school's Public Interest Externship. Additionally, she was certified to serve as a Certified Guardian Ad Litem with the 4th and 11th Judicial Circuits, where she represented the best interests of neglected, abused, and abandoned children.
