Included on the highly anticipated list of 2019's Outside Counsel of the Year is Stephen Henning, one of the co-founders of WSHB. Henning will be one of the honorees during the opening ceremonies of the CLM Annual Conference that takes place on March 15, 2019, in Orlando, Florida.

Outside Counsel of the Year Honorees were announced earlier this month by the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM). This highly coveted national award is the result of an arduous nomination process by the entire membership, the largest professional organizations of lawyers, general counsel and claim professionals in the United States.

"I am surprised, humbled and thrilled to be honored as one of the finalists for Outside Counsel of the Year," said Henning. "This particular award is driven by truly talented individuals who are navigating some of the most complex legal issues in the nation to resolution. To be included among some of the most talented and respected lawyers in the industry is an honor in and of itself."

As one of the co-founders of WSHB, Henning has been instrumental in propelling the growth of the firm into a national litigation powerhouse with 24 offices in 15 States. WSHB has grown from its inception to one of the top 200 largest law firms in the United States. Henning, a national thought leader and frequent speaker on a variety of emerging litigation issues, is an active member of CLM. He has served as the co-chair of the CLM National Construction Conference since it's inception and serves as a member of the Advisory Board. He has previously been honored as the first defense lawyer to receive the Jerrold S. Oliver Award for contribution to the construction industry.

"I've known Steve for over 20 years, and can honestly say one of his core values is giving back to others," said WSHB partner Constance Endelicato, who was recently honored by Business Insurance as a "Woman to Watch." "Steve is a savvy litigator, able to identify and stay ahead of emerging trends in law, while at the same time being extremely generous with his time, talent and energy. He’s always making sure the spotlight shines on others, I'm thrilled it is shining on him this time with this well-deserved honor."

A leader in his legal field, Henning is a skilled litigator, nationally recognized for results in complex construction, real estate, business and toxic tort litigation. He regularly represents Fortune 500 companies and preeminent members of the business community, including some of the nation’s largest residential and commercial public and private owners, homebuilders, developers, investors, contractors and lenders. Additionally, Henning has a thriving practice focused on public entities, handling all facets of litigation and risk management pertaining to construction and toxic tort issues.

An AV-rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, for the past ten years Henning has been selected for inclusion as either a “Rising Star” or “Super Lawyer.”

In addition to his extensive legal practice, Henning regularly gives back to the community by taking on leadership positions in several national and local charities. He chaired the Board of Directors for the March of Dimes, was a founding Board member and past President of the Construction Defect Community Charitable Foundation, active with the Alzheimer’s Association and a local public aid legal organization. He currently also serves as Board Chair for several education based non-profits in the Los Angeles area.
