WSHB is thrilled to announce that associate Jennifer Barrett will be featured as a presenter at the highly anticipated 2023 ILADS Scientific Conference, set to take place from October 19-22, 2023 at the Westin Boston Seaport District Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. The theme for this year’s conference is Vector-Borne Diseases: Understanding the Impact of Microbial Communities. ILADS conferences seek to highlight the most up-to-date information regarding evidence-based scientific advances and best practices in the clinical care of Lyme disease and related diseases.

Jennifer Barrett, who has distinguished herself in the field of Lyme disease as it relates to medical practitioner liability and best practices to reduce legal risk, will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this year’s conference. Her expertise and dedication to assisting medical and insurance professionals in managing risk effectively makes Jennifer a standout addition to the already distinguished lineup of speakers. Her presentation is entitled “Legal Risk Management: What You Wished You Learned in Medical School” and will take place October 19, 2023 from 4:15-4:45 p.m.

ILADS’ mission as stated on its website is to provide education and professional development for healthcare professionals in the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases. The organization holds an annual scientific conference geared toward medical professionals including MDs, Dos, NDs, Pas, NPs, RNs, LCSWs, DCs, PhDs, psychologists, and other professionals assisting Lyme and related diseases patients.

Jennifer Barrett is an associate attorney in WSHB's Portland office handling complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on personal injury. Jennifer received her law degree from Seattle University School of Law and holds a Master's in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
