Overview

Nicholas Nussbaum is an accomplished insurance coverage associate attorney based in WSHB’s New York City office. He brings extensive experience in complex civil litigation, focusing on professional liability defense, premises liability, labor and employment matters, construction litigation, and general liability.

Nicholas represents firm clients in civil litigation matters in New York, Connecticut, and Ohio state courts, as well as the Southern District of New York federal court. He has experience in client intake, pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and oral arguments.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Astronautic Engineering from the US Naval Academy. He earned a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Before embarking upon a legal career, Nicholas served as a submarine officer in the US Navy. His Navy career culminated in a tour at the Pentagon, where he integrated communications systems alongside our maritime allies, for which he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. He transitioned his military experience into a Systems Engineering role with a national defense contractor, where he handled highly technical design work and managed teams on software and electrical integration efforts.

Nicholas is admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut, Ohio, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Outside of work, he enjoys snorkeling, trail-running, and outdoor adventures with his family.
