Overview
Nicholas Martin is a senior associate in WSHB’s Westport office and is a member of the firm’s national Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team. He provides clients with immediate assistance in responding to, remediating and analyzing risks associated with actual or suspected data breaches. While participating in forensic investigations and complex data analysis, Nick guides clients through notification requirements and regulatory compliance with international, federal, and state privacy laws, including, but not limited to, CCPA, CPRA, DFARS, FERPA, GLBA, HIPAA, FINRA, and HI-TECH. He also assists clients with preparing notification materials, incident messaging and handling post-incident escalations, inquiries, and regulatory investigations.
Nick is a graduate of Hofstra University’s School of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the Dispute Resolution Society and participated in the University’s pro-bono Covid Task Force, assisting individuals in navigating potential evictions during the Covid period. He received his undergraduate degree in History from Western Connecticut State University with a minor in Psychology. Nick is a member of the New York State and New York City bar associations and is a member of the New York State Bar.
