Overview

Mark Marquez is a Senior Associate in WSHB’s Orange County office. His practice focuses on complex tort and casualty, transportation, medical malpractice and healthcare, public entity defense, and employment defense. He represents hospitals, healthcare organizations, medical professionals, public entities, employers, and insurers in complex litigation and related legal matters. His experience includes developing litigation strategies, managing discovery, briefing and arguing motions, appearing at evidentiary hearings, negotiating settlements, and preparing cases for trial.

Before joining WSHB, Mark served as an Attorney III for the California Department of State Hospitals, advising hospital leadership and staff on litigation, privacy, regulatory compliance, healthcare, contractual agreements, and employment matters. He previously practiced insurance defense, primarily representing construction companies in construction defect and premises liability as well as personal injury claims against on-demand rideshare companies, and employment litigation. Mark served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Judge Hayes of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and as a law clerk in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he handled employment discrimination and tort defense matters.

Mark earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where he received an Academic Excellence Award, Dean’s Honors, and an Am Jur Award in Internet, Intellectual Property, Privacy, and Media Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis.
