Overview
Lauren Nweze is senior counsel in WSHB’s Portland office handling complex state and federal civil litigation. Lauren is admitted to practice in Oregon, U.S. District Court – District of Oregon, and the U.S. Court of Appeals - Ninth Circuit. She specializes in a wide array of municipal defense issues, including constitutional and civil rights, disability and accommodation, premises liability, indemnification, medical malpractice, and general torts.
Before joining WSHB, Lauren served as litigation counsel for Oregon’s largest public entity insurance risk pool, representing municipal entities and employees across the state of Oregon, and before worked for the City of Beaverton, providing an array of legal services, including civil and administrative representation for the City, police liaison counsel, and municipal prosecutor. Lauren brings significant experience from both inside and beyond the courtroom to help achieve successful outcomes for her clients.
Lauren earned her J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law (Bloomington), graduating in the top third of her class, and received her B.A. cum laude from University of Portland. Lauren's passion for litigation was evident throughout her academic career, as she actively competed in numerous trial and appellate court advocacy competitions during both undergraduate and law school. Her outstanding performance in advocacy earned her multiple honors, culminating in her induction into the Order of Barristers.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her two young daughters, yoga, game nights, and stand-up comedy.
