Overview
Eduardo Ramos is a senior associate in the WSHB's New York City office. His practice focuses on domestic and London market insurance matters, with experience spanning complex first-party and third-party coverage issues across a wide range of industries. He advises insurers on policy interpretation, claim evaluation, and strategic resolution of disputes involving property, casualty, energy, financial lines, directors and officers (D&O), and catastrophic losses. Eduardo brings extensive international experience in insurance law across the U.S., Mexico, Latin America, and the U.K., grounded in high‑complexity coverage analysis and claim handling.
Before joining the firm, Eduardo gained extensive experience handling numerous complex insurance and reinsurance matters each year across multiple business lines, drafting coverage opinions, advising major international carriers, and managing litigation strategy from initial intake through settlement.
At WSHB, Eduardo provides strategic counsel to insurers on significant domestic claims and losses, assessing policy language, potential exposures, and claim‑resolution strategies across U.S. jurisdictions. His cross‑border background and native Spanish fluency enable him to distill sophisticated coverage questions into clear, practical guidance for insurers operating in both domestic and London markets.
Eduardo is also committed to public service. He completed substantial pro bono work with the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), providing bilingual, trauma‑informed legal support through the Mobile Legal Help Center and facilitating access to immigration and civil legal services for underserved New York City communities. He also volunteered with Legal Assistance of Western New York’s Pro Se Uncontested Divorce Program, where he drafted pleadings and assisted low‑income litigants seeking family‑court relief.
Eduardo earned his LL.M. from The University of Chicago Law School, where he received a partial merit scholarship, and his LL.B. from Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City. He is admitted to practice in New York (2026) and Mexico (2021).
