Overview

Michael Hirota is a partner in WSHB’s El Segundo office, part of the firm’s Los Angeles presence, serving clients throughout Southern California. He focuses his practice on professional liability and employment defense; defending professional, corporate, and individual clients from errors and omissions, labor and employment, and wage and hour claims in both state and federal court. Michael also handles cybersecurity and data privacy matters, including data breach class actions, tech litigation, breach response cases, and state/federal enforcement of data privacy statutes.

He has represented and counseled clients throughout all stages of litigation, from pre-filing through trial. Michael has extensive experience representing defending professional and employer clients in a variety of non-traditional forums, achieving positive results before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Labor Commissioner, the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and the California State Bar Court.

In his free time, Michael is an avid Japanese taiko drummer and is active in the Japanese-American community.
