Overview

Matthew Michelsen is a senior associate attorney in WSHB’s Sonoma County office. He focuses his practice on complex civil litigation. His varied skill set has Matthew handling an array of matters, including transportation, commercial, construction defect, and business disputes. Matthew has extensive experience defending parties in various types of litigated and arbitrated matters, often those that involve complex legal issues, motion practice and other high level written work-product, and appellate implications.

Matthew takes pride in obtaining the best possible outcomes for his clients. To achieve those goals, he applies detail-oriented and cost-effective strategies to diligently pursue the legal rights and remedies required by the circumstances of each case.

Before joining the firm, Matthew gained valuable experience at the Sacramento Public Defender’s Office. He also, while still in law school, served as a judicial extern with the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. In his free time, Matthew enjoys going to the gym, hiking, bicycling, golfing, and playing strategy games.
