Overview

Matthew Higginson is a senior associate attorney at WSHB’s San Diego office. In his practice for the firm, he counsels and represents employers in various labor and employment law matters with a focus on wage and hour class actions, Private Attorney General Act representative actions, and harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims.

Prior to joining WSHB, Matthew worked as Head of Legal and Compliance for a San Diego based technology startup, where he worked on transactional and general corporate matters. Earlier, he practiced at another Southern California law firm, focusing primarily on a variety of complex civil matters involving general liability defense, construction defect, and commercial defense.

Matthew graduated from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, cum laude, in 2017. While in law school, he worked as a law clerk for several firms to diversify his legal work experience and knowledge and was heavily involved in the Student Bar Association where he served as President of the Evening Law Students Association. He also gained experience working as a pro-bono volunteer for the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program. 

In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with  his family and friends, reading, golfing, playing basketball, and following sports.
