Overview
Joseph Petrella is a senior associate and member of our Jacksonville litigation team. His practice includes a broad range of civil litigation matters. These span first-party property insurance disputes, general liability defense, medical malpractice litigation, appellate advocacy, lemon law and warranty claims, and aviation-related litigation.
Before becoming an attorney, Joseph earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. He was a member of the Mock Trial Team and was named to the Dean’s List every semester. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University.
A first-generation attorney and self-starter, Joseph has developed extensive experience in managing matters through all stages of litigation. Prior to joining WSHB, he represented clients in a variety of complex litigation matters across Florida. He also assisted in the successful prosecution of a high-profile medical malpractice case that resulted in the largest medical malpractice verdict in Florida history. His involvement included extensive trial preparation, legal research, motion practice, and daily trial support on various matters.
Outside of the office, Joseph enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dogs. When not in the office, he can often be found hunting in Georgia, enjoying lake days with family, attending concerts, and religiously following his favorite football teams.
