Overview
Jerris Sumlin is an associate attorney at WSHB’s Miami office. He is an experienced litigator with a proven track record of successfully defending cases on both a state and federal level.
Mr. Sumlin earned his B.S. in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida and his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Sumlin earned his way onto the University of Florida Levin College of Law’s trial team, where he represented the school nationally in numerous competitions against competing law schools.
Before joining WSHB, Mr. Sumlin zealously advocated for and defended thousands of indigent clients in Miami-Dade County as an Assistant Public Defender. After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Sumlin worked at a boutique civil defense firm, defending lawsuits in state and federal courts.
When not actively defending firm clients, Mr. Sumlin is a fan of University of Florida College Football team.
