Elizabeth Scheinman is an associate at WSHB’s Las Vegas office.  She focuses her practice on transportation and complex torts and casualty.

Elizabeth began her law school career at Vermont Law School, where she was a Staff Editor for the Vermont Law Review. While at VLS, she was awarded an Academic Excellence Award for receiving the top grade in her criminal law class; participated in the Student Bar Association as a Class Senator; and volunteered as a debate and public speaking instructor at a women’s prison. She then transferred to the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, where she volunteered as a truancy court “Judge” for the Eighth Judicial District Court’s Truancy Diversion Program and worked as a research assistant for Professor Frank Fritz, assisting with researching and drafting memoranda on legal barriers to decarbonization for Nevada’s first climate initiative.

She has had significant and diverse legal experience in Nevada’s Eighth Judicial District Court. While in law school, Elizabeth interned at the Clark County Public Defender’s Office, where she regularly represented clients under the supervision of Deputy Public Defenders. She also interned for the Hon. Eric Johnson, during which time she analyzed a wide breadth of civil litigation matters. Elizabeth then clerked for the Hon. Dawn Throne in family court after graduating cum laude from the Boyd School of Law. She received additional accolades upon graduating from law school, including induction into the National Order of Scribes for recognized excellence in legal writing and being awarded Highest Pro Bono Honors for completing 100+ hours of approved pro bono work.

Elizabeth is an active member of the State Bar of Nevada as well as a member of the Clark County Bar Association and the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys. Outside of work, Elizabeth is an avid reader and co-hosts the Reading Women Book Club at the Writer’s Block in downtown Las Vegas.
