Overview

Danay Hernandez is an associate in WSHB's Miami office who specializes in insurance coverage and complex commercial litigation. 

She attended St. Thomas University College of Law for her legal studies and Florida International University as an undergraduate. While in law school, Danay served as Alumni Outreach Editor of the Law Review and Vice President of Alumni Affairs for the Moot Court Board. She was awarded the Top Ten Brief Award at the 2021 Emory Law’s Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition and the CALI Book Award in Evidence. She was also inducted into the National Order of Barristers for her oral advocacy and brief writing skills.

Prior to joining the firm, Danay gained experience in property and commercial litigation as well as trial and appellate family law matters. Previously, she served as a Judicial Intern to Circuit Judge Miguel M. de la O, Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida.

Danay is a member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar, Cuban American Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association. She is fully bilingual in both English and Spanish.
