Navigating New Data Security Regulations

April 19, 2018

Litigator and cybersecurity expert Christopher Seusing from WSHB will explore “Navigating New Data Security Regulations” in a special USI Insurance WebEx seminar on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Seusing, with Tom Ciano, Senior Vice President of USI, will discuss the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and changes that may impact c-suite executives, risk managers, in-house counsel and IT professionals that process or possess personal data of Europeans.

“The GDPR is the most important change in European data security in 20 years,” said Seusing, WSHB’s newest partner in its New York office. “The geographic scope of this new law extends far beyond the European Union, potentially effecting any U.S. company that has a web presence and markets their products over the web. This session will explore the implications of the GDPR on American businesses and what they can do to prepare.”

WSHB recently launched an acclaimed cybersecurity and data privacy practice in response to today’s constantly evolving business and market climate. Information governance – now more than ever – can address these issues and play a vital role in the routine operations of businesses of all sizes, from family-owned to Fortune 500 corporations.

Seusing is nationally sought after for his expertise in cybersecurity, e-Discovery and information governance. Seusing’s broad experience includes representation of companies and professionals in complex litigation matters around the country, and counseling clients on responding to data breach incidents and regulatory inquiries. He drafts information management policies and procedures in compliance with privacy regulations, coordinates domestic and international collections of terabytes of data, trains and monitors forensic and document review teams, and collaborates with case teams to implement cost-effective processes using state-of-the-art litigation tools, including analytics and technology-assisted review.
