National law firm has an immediate opening for a skilled and experienced legal assistant in civil litigation and construction defect in its Las Vegas office. Qualified candidates must have 3+ years of Nevada experience in a legal assistant and/or legal secretary position in a law firm setting. Insurance defense is highly preferred. This position is hybrid and will require you to come into the office 2-3 days per week. Therefore, you must live in the greater Las Vegas area - no exceptions.

Skills and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to the following:

  • E-filing experience in Nevada, both State and Federal Court
  • Familiar with Civil, Arbitration & Mediation procedures/filings
  • Familiar with Clark County District Court, Justice Court (All Counties), Elko County, Douglas County and Washoe County Cour procedures/filings
  • Familiar with scheduling depositions with Court Reporting agencies
  • Maintain attorneys calendar by planning and scheduling zoom meetings, depositions, mediations, teleconferences, and travel arrangements
  • Ability to engage with attorneys, clients, vendors and court personnel in support of successful case workflow
  • Have the ability to communicate with outside law firms to schedule depositions and other meetings as needed
  • Proof and finalize correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, and prepare routine shells though macros
  • Ability to prepare and file pleading documents and discovery documents while consulting with the attorney
  • Ability to open and close legal files
  • Handle general correspondence between outside law firms, clients, and insurance carriers
  • Heavy document management organizational skills
  • Ability to manage invoices for third-party vendors and processing check requests
  • Record and track deadlines through docketing and calendar system
  • Able to provide support to multiple attorneys
  • Trial experience

  • Knowledge of Odyssey and eFlex e-filing systems and eDockets is a must
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically in Outlook, Word, Excel, iManage, eDockets & Zoom
  • Self-starter with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced & team oriented environment
  • Requires the ability to work 40 Hours a week Monday-Friday – Hybrid position
