Vanessa Turley is a senior associate in WSHB’s Las Vegas office, where she focuses her practice on medical malpractice. She is also experienced in representing developers and general contractors in construction site injury and construction defect litigation.
She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with bachelor’s degrees in Cognitive Science and Chicano Studies. Subsequently, she went on to complete a Masters of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Greenspun School of Urban Affairs. Ms. Turley received her law degree from UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law, where she graduated with Pro Bono Honors. She was also the first student to complete the Health Law Concentration program. During law school, Ms. Turley competed and placed second in two writing competitions for her research on medical repatriation. She presented her work at the American College of Legal Medicine Conference in 2017.
From 2010 to 2019, Ms. Turley worked as social worker both in foster care and healthcare settings. She worked as a medical social worker at Sunrise Hospital for three years where she diligently assisted adult and pediatric emergency room patients and families. After passing the bar, Ms. Turley’s practice focused on representing disabled social security applicants in front of administrative law judges at the federal level in over seven states. Most recently, she has spent a considerable amount of time representing hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits.
Since 2017, Ms. Turley has been a CAP attorney where she represents the interests of foster children in family court. She has also volunteered extensively with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Legal Services.
