Overview

Arthur Rushforth is senior counsel in WSHB's New York office. He specializes in defending building owners, general contractors and trade contractors in New York Labor Law cases. Having defended over 100 depositions, Arthur developed a unique skillset in identifying evidence to support his clients' defenses against Plaintiffs' claims. He's also experienced in pursuing risk transfer on behalf of his clients and handles a broad range of cases, including premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, and catastrophic injury litigation.

Arthur graduated with honors from St. John's University School of Law, where he was awarded the Dean's Award for Excellence in Labor Law and served as the Articles & Notes Editor for The American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review. During his time in law school, he interned for the New York State Attorney General Office, Litigation Bureau, and for the Honorable Cecilia G. Morris, Chief Judge, United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York.

In addition to his legal work, Arthur mentors new attorneys at the New York Office, training associates in deposition preparation and arguing discovery-related issues. Arthur holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from the University at Albany, State University of New York. While an undergraduate, he served as Student Body President and as a Student Representative and Voting Member for the UAlbany Presidential Search Committee.
