Appellate
Handled all appellate matters that developed out of his trial practice. Among the opinions published by the appellate courts are:
Dimmer v. State Farm - Coverage action involving the enforceability of an exclusion which precluded coverage under the State Farm policy for negligence actions brought by one or more members of the household against another member(s) of the same household.
Young v. D.F.W., dba Keegan's - Dramshop action wherein the court declared unconstitutional a legislative enactment extending liability to liquor licenses, but only if the patron was "obviously intoxicated".
Moonshadow v. Duncan - Statue of limitations was at issue in an alleged molestation action where the claimed conduct occurred 20 years prior and the plaintiff had full memory of the supposed event.

Mediation
Participated in hundreds of mediations as a mediator and on behalf of participating party. Served on the original committee acting in concert with the State Court of Appeals to establish a program providing trained mediators in personal injury cases.

James Evans is one of Arizona's leading trial attorneys, having successfully tried to verdict over 100 jury trials and 600 bench trials / arbitrations. In addition to his impressive record in litigated matters, he enjoys widespread recognition from members of the judiciary and bar from his experience as former President of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel. He has served for over 15 years as a former Pro Tem Judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court, served as the Chairman of the Governor's Task Force on Tort Reform, is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, and has previously taught at the Arizona Trial College. Jim also has been elected to membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
Handling a wide range of litigation, Jim handles construction, business litigation, environmental, toxic tort, transportation, personal injury/wrongful death and products/professional liability issues. Jim is admitted to practice in Arizona, various federal courts and the United States Supreme Court.
Jim has served for several years on the Board of Directors of Phoenix Memorial Hospital. During much of that time, he was the Board's Long Range Planning Chairman.
