Bio

William Halkias is an associate in WSHB’s New York office, where he handles all phases of complex civil litigation. Bill’s practice focuses on the defense of general liability matters, and his experience includes the successful defense of owners, developers, general contractors, and construction managers in matters including premises liability and construction site accidents.

Bill received his Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, where he served as a senior editor for the Arbitration Law Review Journal, as well as a student advisor for the Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic at the Happy Valley LaunchBox, a start-up incubator where Bill provided legal assistance for start-ups and small businesses. During law school, Bill interned at the Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore, Maryland after the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody. Bill also interned at a boutique real estate law firm in Manhattan where he worked on cases involving commercial and residential real estate issues. During that time, Bill also worked as the editor of the 2016-2017 New York Practice Series – Landlord and Tenant Practice in New York, an annual publication covering substantive and procedural issues encountered in the ownership and management of commercial and residential real estate in New York.

Outside the office, Bill co-manages several residential properties with his father, and enjoys reading and traveling.
