Chiemela is an associate in WSHB’s Los Angeles office, where she focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She is experienced in handling labor and employment issues, products liability and professional liability defense. Chiemela is also active in the cannabis practice group, bridging the communication gap between new businesses and public entities in all aspects of issues from formation, acquisitions, employment agreements, security issues, risk transfer and litigation.
Chiemela graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law and received the Excellence in Peacemaking Parris Award to honor her for exhibiting one of the highest orders of the pillars of professionalism. While at Pepperdine, Chiemela worked as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Huey P. Cotton, Supervising Judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court for the Northwest District. She also worked part-time at a plaintiff’s firm while simultaneously working on staff at Pepperdine’s Dispute Resolution Law Journal.
Chiemela received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science and two minors from the University of California Los Angeles. While attending UCLA, she interned for United States Senator Dianne Feinstein, and worked for the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer Affairs Small Claims Court, then after graduating she lived overseas for two years working as a project officer/consultant in Hong Kong.
