Chiemela is an associate in WSHB’s Los Angeles office, where she focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She has experience in handling labor and employment issues, mass toxic tort, products liability and professional liability defense. In addition, she handles construction matters representing the developer, general counsel and land owners in both litigated and transactional matters.
Chiemela graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law and received the Excellence in Peacemaking Parris Award to honor her for exhibiting one of the highest orders of the pillars of professionalism. While at Pepperdine, she worked as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Huey P. Cotton, Supervising Judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court for the Northwest District. She also worked as a Law Clerk for two years and she served on staff for Pepperdine’s Dispute Resolution Law Journal.
Immediately after law school, Chiemela began working at a firm while volunteering legal aid at FAME Legal Clinic, and also serving as a legal advisor for several nonprofit organizations.
Chiemela received her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science and two minors from the University of California Los Angeles. While attending UCLA, she interned for United States Senator Dianne Feinstein, and participated in AmeriCorps, where she completed service for the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer Affairs Small Claims Court, then after graduating she lived overseas for two years working as a project officer/consultant in Hong Kong.
