Catherine Lyster handles diverse fields of law, including intellectual property, insurance, trusts and estates, and general business and commercial matters. As part of this representation, Catherine has engaged in motion practice during all stages of trial and appellate work, including legal strategy and preservation. Catherine also engages in counseling and advising commercial clients and entrepreneurs regarding day-to-day business management, contractual disputes, bankruptcy matters and insurance coverage disputes. In addition, Catherine assists our national insurance coverage practice by advising and representing domestic and international insurers on first-party property (Homeowner’s and Commercial), commercial general liability, construction defect, and professional errors and omission claims. Catherine has successfully litigated a wide variety of first-party and third-party insurance cases, including the interpretation of policy provisions and exclusions.
Catherine received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from Pace University and a Juris Doctor degree with a Certificate in Environmental Law and a Certificate in International Law from Pace University School of Law. While in law school, Catherine was a Senior Associate for Pace Environmental Law Review and worked extensively throughout New York State developing her legal skills with a diverse array of internships in both the public and private sectors, including at the Environmental Protection Agency, the Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation, and the Land Use Law Center.
