Alyssa Gjedsted is a senior associate in WSHB’s Los Angeles office, where she focuses her practice on all facets of employment issues. She handles all employment-related matters including strategic risk management issues to litigation from inception through trial. Her success in the courtroom includes a recent jury trial resulting in a full defense verdict for our client. Alyssa also handles high-exposure matters relating to breach of privacy within healthcare facilities.
A graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, with a certificate in alternative dispute resolution from the Straus Institute, Alyssa was the recipient of a diversity scholarship. During her first year, Alyssa was selected as a research assistant for her Civil Procedure professor, and was responsible for researching current international adoption policy and drafting memoranda for an article on restructuring the Hague Convention. During her second and third years, she was a judicial extern for the Honorable Gregory Alarcon in Department 36 of the Los Angeles Superior Court, and a judicial extern to the Honorable Arthur Alarcon of the United State Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She was also a member of Pepperdine’s Dispute Resolution Law Journal.
Alyssa is certified as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (“CASA”), volunteering her time to advocate for abused or neglected children. She holds a certification in yoga instruction, and runs half marathons to benefit various charities at least once a year. Alyssa is also fluent in Italian.
