Overview

Ignacio Mendoza Jr. is an experienced member of our senior counsel class, practicing in WSHB's Rio Grande Valley office. He has expertise in several practice areas, including construction defect litigation, auto/commercial transportation, medical malpractice, professional negligence, and complex torts and casualty. Ignacio is committed to providing quality legal representation that is tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. He works diligently to ensure outcomes that are in the client's interest, whether it's through negotiated settlements, at mediation, or through jury trials.

Ignacio was born in McAllen, Texas, and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. He earned his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University - Kingsville, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. After graduation, Ignacio served as an educator, teaching computer applications and college readiness to middle school students. Later, he earned his law degree at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where he worked as a research assistant and tutored his fellow law students. Ignacio graduated with Honors, becoming the Salutatorian of his class.

After being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, Ignacio began his legal career with the Hidalgo County Public Defender's Office. He later expanded into civil litigation and became a certified guardianship attorney.

Ignacio is a devoted married father of three children. He enjoys fishing, hunting, playing flag football, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. He has served as a youth leader for his parish and believes in the value of serving one's community.
